Hi! Thank you for joining me at Walsh Nutrition. I am Jenna Walsh, RD, and Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE). I have been practicing as an RD since 2010 after completing my undergrad at the University of Guelph, and Dietitic Internship through the Ottawa Hospital in 2009.
I call Renfrew County home, specfically Deep River. The diversity and rural setting of this area has encouraged me to expand my nutrition knowledge in most traditional areas (diabetes, weight management, heart disease, basic sport nutrition etc), but also in less traditional areas such digestive health, pediatric nutrition, and eating disorders. My love of supporting clients struggling with disordered eating and distorted body image has lead me on my current professional journey towards my Certified Eating Disorder RD certification.
As a mom of 3 busy young ladies, I get the real-life struggles. I know the difference between text-book or 'ideal' beliefs around food, weight and disease management versus just trying to get through a week. I can help bring your goals and real-life routine together.
My job and my passion in nutrition is to support you and your health by making nutrition simple and returning some joy to eating. Though I believe in balance, following your innate hunger cues and an 'all foods fit' approach, I am here to support YOU in your lifestyle goals.
I started to offer my services online 6 years ago to fill a need: living in a small rural area, I realized at times people physically struggled to get into an office; and some clients didn't have covered (OHIP) access to a Registered Dietitian. With my own busy lifestyle, and trying to reduce barriers for clients, online became the perfect solution!
